1. How many people do you need to serve?
2. What size will your servings be? My tiers are 4-5 inches high.
Coffee serve is 1" x 1" and Dessert serve is 1" x 2" .
3. What sort of cake would you like? Mud cake, fruit cake or velvet cake.
4. What flavours would you like? (please consult the flavours page)
5. What sort of finish would you like on your cake? Fondant - smooth or textured, or fondant and rough
royal icing for that buttercream look.
7. What degree of decoration would you like on your cake? Figurines, flowers, ribbons, stencils, piping, ruffles, lace, quilting, edible images or something else. (I can talk you through these terms.)
8. For a wedding, is the top tier to be kept?
9. What date is your event?
10. Where is the cake to be delivered to?
If you know these details then we can work together to create the cake of your dreams to a budget that suits you. My prices are calculated based on the size of the tiers requested plus number of hours to decorate your cake.
Just as an example, an 8" round chocolate mud cake with 3 layers of filling, ganache and fondant on the outside with a ribbon with a simply worded message (eg Happy 21st Birthday Louise), will cost $210. This is a very basic cake and additional decorations and delivery would be at extra cost.
When coming for a consultation with me about your dream wedding cake, please bring a sample of any colours, invitations, pictures, lace, etc that you would like incorporated into your cake.
Delivery costs will depend on your distance from Withcott.
Additional costs for hire of stands or other items will be applied at time of booking.
Quotes are valid for 7 days but do not constitute a booking. If you have indicated a wish to book with me, a Contract will be emailed to you. You then have 7 days to pay a booking fee (which then comes off the total amount of your cake costs) to secure the date. Failure to pay means that the date remains available for others to book. I do not cater for allergies, only intolerances. I specialise in fondant covered cakes but can achieve the look of buttercream cakes using sturdier products.
I do not make naked or semi naked cakes, nor cakes that use fresh fruit or vegetables.
